Our goal is to give every client customized accounting and tax services along with excellent customer service. Meet Our Team
Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Starr attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison and graduated with a degree in Finance and Marketing. After starting her career in corporate accounting, she sat for the CPA exam in 1995. Her exam scores were among the highest in the U.S. In 2009 she received her Masters of Taxation degree from Northern Illinois University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. Starr loves to learn and attends well over 40 hours of continuing professional education each year. She is also an Advanced Certified QuickBooks® ProAdvisor at the Diamond level, giving her clients the highest discounts possible. For those who wish to work in the cloud, Starr is a QuickBooks® Online adviser as well.
Starr has taught QuickBooks® and computer skills to many business clients and colleagues over the years. She previously taught accounting at Oakton Community College, including Accounting Systems and Procedures, QuickBooks®, and Excel for Accountants.
Starr is the former Treasurer for the Wisconsin Alumni Association – Chicago Chapter Board and loves connecting with her fellow Badger alumni. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, fine dining, and spending time with family and friends.
Starr has been advising business owners and individual clients since 1995 on tax and accounting issues. She has a broad range of industry experience, having worked 10 years in financial accounting and over 25 years in public accounting. Starr’s public accounting experience ranges from national to local firms, and focuses on businesses and individuals with complex tax and accounting needs.
Starr’s experience working on the financial teams of small and medium businesses provides her with an in-depth understand of the issues from the client’s perspective. Starr has been a licensed CPA in Illinois since 1996. She is registered with the Internal Revenue Service and holds a valid PTIN for preparing tax returns.

Jo Cohen, Office Manager
Jo has worked in Customer Service for over 30 years. She believes there is nothing more important than listening to your concerns, discussing options, and getting answers to your questions. She is committed to clients, and feels all clients should receive a return call or email within the same business day.
Tax deadlines can be stressful for many people, and not being able to get your concerns addressed can contribute to the anxiety.
